Patricia E. Kuepker

Patricia E. Kuepker, 72, of Sumner, died Thursday, January 8, 2015, at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner with Rev. Susan Friedrich officiating.  Interment will be at Union Mound Cemetery in Sumner.  Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January  12th at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may given in her name to the Sumner Public Library. 

Patricia Eileen, daughter of Velmar and Dellora (Oltrogge) Foss, was born November 23, 1942, at Oelwein, Iowa. She was baptized December 20, 1942, at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oelwein and confirmed March 25, 1956, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner. Pat received her education in the Sumner Schools, graduating from Sumner High School in 1960. On June 12, 1960, she was united in marriage with Phillip W. Kuepker at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner. Pat was a longtime librarian at the Sumner Public Library, assisted her husband with a clothing store they owned and operated, provided daycare for children in Sumner, and worked at the Tripoli Nursing Home. Pat enjoyed bowling and playing golf.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathie (Kim) Diemer of Hawkeye and Kristie ( Mark) Reed of Sumner; six grandchildren, Matt (Sandy) Wickman, Katie and Kyle Diemer, and Chuck, Mike, and Joe Reed; one great-granddaughter, Emily Wickman; and one brother Mike (Connie) Foss of Cedar Rapids.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Phil, who died February 20, 2002; a daughter, Konnie; her parents; and a brother, Steve.
